Jesus extends to us an invitation to follow Him. To become his disciples. To be with Him, to become like Him, to do as He does. As we live our lives in response to this incredible invitation we do so recognising that we too extend the invitation to other to follow in the way of Jesus as we do. As Paul writes - Imitate me as I imitate Christ. “I want you to pattern your lives after me, just as I pattern mine after Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 (tpt) In a culture where everyone is following someone or something, it is vital that we not only understand the call to follow Jesus but to live as authentic disciples that point others to Jesus through the way we live.
